about
Sandy Point is part of the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park and also the Waratah Bay- Shallow Inlet Coastal Reserve. Surfing, windsurfing, fishing and boating are just some of the popular past times experienced here. Its beauty stretches for miles, an endless beach surrounded by native bushland. During the summer school holidays, the town experiences a surge in visitors and holiday rentals become harder to find during this time.
Day trips to the neigbouring towns of Waratah Bay and Walkerville are just a short drive away, while the gates into Wilsons Promontory National Park are less than 30 km.

Food options in Sandy Point are extremely limited. For those coming into town on an extended stay, it is best to bring your own food in, and to stock up as you need at the General Store. You will find a small range of supermarket options such as meat, fruit & vegies, bread, ice-cream, snacks and food staples.
The closest major supermarket is in Foster, a 23 minute drive away. The town also has cafes and the local pub for a meal out. An alternative is the town of Fish Creek which also has some great cafes, a good pub but no supermarket.
During the summer months you can head to the Surf Life Saving Club in Sandy Point on a Saturday evening for a drink and light snack. All proceeds go back into the club. For more information head to their facebook page.
