1. Grand Ridge Rail Trail

We are so lucky to have plenty of outdoor trails to safely walk or ride, here in South Gippsland.

The Grand Ridge Rail Trail is a popular Mirboo North attraction, and easily accessed from the centre of town. It offers a lush and well shaded track. During the walk you will be surrounded by dense bush, ferns and tall trees, and may even be lucky enough to see some wildlife along the way. For the more energetic, particularly bike riders, you can pedal all the way to the town of Boolarra, some 13 km away.

Why visit: A tranquil setting. Great for families.

Location: start of trail begins behind the Brewery

2. Grand Ridge Brewery

One of the towns main attractions in Mirboo North is the Grand Ridge Brewery, which has been in operation since 1989. Converted from the old butter factory, visitors can sample a range of craft beers and ciders along with a meal in the main restaurant.

The beer here is produced with the highest quality spring water, hops, yeast and and malt, with no preservatives. Serving up heavy, light and dessert beers, we often grab a six pack of moonshine to take home for later.

The brewery is a pub style establishment so has a full range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. You can also check out the viewing room into the brewery from the bar area.

Heading just over 3 km north of Mirboo North toward Morwell is the turn off for Lyrebird Forest Walk. A quiet and tranquil setting, the walk will take around 1.5 hours return from the car park, though you can opt for a shorter version. The longer trail is 4.8 km and the short version is 3 km.
