things to do in SANDY POINT

1. Sandy Point Beach – Waratah bay

The beach at Sandy Point is a wonderful place to visit. Its wide and expansive shoreline goes on for days, and the further you wander, the more isolated it becomes. Native bushland envelopes the sand dunes all along the coast and long walks promise a moment of solitude.

For those up for some fun, the beach brings out the surfers when the waves are on point, but even the kids love getting their boogie boards out when conditions are right. During the summer months the beach is patrolled by the local Surf Life Saving Club.

For pet owners, dogs are permitted on the beach but not in all areas. The stretch of sand in front of the Surf Life Saving Club only allows dogs on it outside the hours of 9 am to 6 pm, Dec 1st to April 30th. They are however permitted off leash 24/7 a bit further down toward Ned Neales Lookout.
